What are the side effects of SPRAVATO® (esketamine)?

SPRAVATO® is generally well tolerated, with most side effects being mild and short-lived—typically limited to the day of treatment. The most commonly reported effects include temporary dissociation, light sedation, nausea, and a brief increase in blood pressure.

  • Dissociation, while it may sound unfamiliar, is often described as a sense of mental or emotional detachment from one’s usual sense of self or surroundings. Far from being concerning, this effect is actually considered a meaningful part of the therapeutic experience for many patients.

  • Nausea is relatively uncommon, but if it does occur, our clinical team is prepared to administer anti-nausea medication promptly to ensure your comfort.

  • As with all treatments, your safety is our highest priority. We monitor your blood pressure and overall well-being closely before, during, and after each session to support a safe and positive treatment experience.
