Jessica Colas, PMHNP

She / Her

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

As a holistic psychiatric nurse practitioner, human to human connection is essential. I seek to understand the root causes of symptoms and collaborate with clients to develop a path towards healing and growth.

  • Jessica Colas graduated from Hunter Bellvue School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 2013 and then from Columbia University in New York in 2017, where she earned her Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, was inducted into the Honor Society and subsequently passed her board exams to become a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

As a registered nurse she worked on the pediatric unit at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. After earning her Master's she started her career as a PMHNP on an ACT team serving East Harlem clients with severe mental illness. As her interest in alternative treatment modalities grew she began to explore a more holistic approach to mental health with a focus on understanding and addressing underlying causes of symptoms. This led her to Field Trip Health where she was a psychiatric consultant and prescriber for clients pursuing Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.

She enjoys working with woman and mothers and has training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders from Postpartum Support International. She completed a six month Ketamine Medical Provider Training from Integrative Psychiatric Institute (IPI) and is currently enrolled in IPI's year long Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Certificate Program.

She is committed to ongoing learning through reading, training and regular attendance at conferences including World Congress on Women's Mental Health, Hozizon Conference in NYC and MAP's Psychedelic Science.

Prior to becoming a nurse Jessica worked in women's design and maintains close ties to her creative self, most notably as a ceramist working out of Greenwich House Pottery Studios. She lives in NYC with her partner, children and her pup, Perla.
